As you have seen I have been playing around with the concept of a sheet ghost for the past few years now. The idea of a ghost, I find is fascinating, not the afterlife part, but the concept of it. Something we cant see, but is there watching and lingering around trying to make contact. The typical sheet ghost is known throughout time. My research finds that one of the first documentations of a sheet ghost refers to the 'Burial Shroud'

THIS POST WILL BE TEMPORARY AS I DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO POST THIS. THIS IS JUST FOR FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT.

IT WILL BE REMOVED FRIDAY. 1st December.

This video features the cherub Tom Rudderham commissioned me to create for his travelling museum.

It is a true honour to have my work in the same room as actual Titanic memorabilia and related topics, its something I would never have thought I was capable of.

So once the costume was finished, it was time to record. We pretty much had one shot for this as the weather was not looking great.

I managed to use the sheet that I burnt a hole in as a undercoat to hide more of legs for the model I was using. I used my Nikon camera to record this. Note -- I have never used it to record a video before, I only learnt on the morning of the recording session.

I had a script of how it was going to be filmed.

2min film script -Camera pans in from the left to see sheet ghost emerging from behind a tree.

-Soundscape slowly fades in.

-long shot of ghost walking through field where I walk the dog

-Closer view of sheet ghost stood looking around -sound slowly transitions into children laughing, birds singing, wind blowing etc?

-Ghost focuses on part of landscape

-Ghost touches something of significant

-Ghost continues to wander through field -sounds start to fade away and soundscape returns

-Ghost stops -Ghost focuses sees something to the right

- ghost looks at camera breaking 4th wall

-loud sound bursts in

-Sheet ghost drops

-music fades out while keeping view on pile of sheets

So I recorded around 5 minutes of material to pick from edit and sort through. There was lots of thing which I never noticed while recording, like seeing the models feel, small movements of the camera. unfocusing etc

After reviewing all the material I went with the last recording I took.

The sounds I made using Garageband
