Get to know about my weekly practice

In this section you can follow how my work is progressing and the reasoning behind it.

'That's Not Me Anymore' is how it sort of builds up and then goes more quiet and then starts back up again. It makes me think of like how life builds up n then you stop n realise you're not who u want to be so try n start again in a sense but just a little differently.

'No More News' gives me the vibe that you've put yourself in solitude, away from people and you don't let them get too close, or you only go day by day at face value to everyone, not letting the majority in. The camera going in and out in an out to me is a reflection of you wanting to just be alone in the hopes of not getting any more news. The music is quite peaceful with an underlay of something quite eerie.

'Never Was' makes me think of someone going through life by themselves mentally, feeling like they always rely on themselves to make themselves feel better/ understand. They feel the need to go through things again, in solitude, with the film, it's like they 'walked themselves' out of this dark place, into something that looks a little bit brighter. The sound brings images of sticks and disturbed ground being walked over, with another peaceful yet eery sound over top. Also, there sounds like distant vocals of a choir of people, but I'm not sure if the shroud is walking away from it or towards it. I think it would depend on if the shroud truly likes being alone or if they need people to heal.

'In the Valley' to me is like part 2 of 'Never was'. It's like the shroud has reached that point of awareness mentally (hence the mirror) and is now aware of how maybe its actions and ways of going through life may benefit/hinder them. They look around maybe to see if there is anyone else aware of what they are seeing in themselves.

"Sisyphean Loop" to me, shows the mountains this shroud has literally walked to get to where they are now. The snow on the mountain could symbolise maybe colder, darker times but, the shroud is now walking on soft grass, in sunshine. The sound reflects that. It is very hypnotic and stabilising. It makes me think the shroud has retrained their mind with the discipline of always moving forward.

"In the echoes of lost times, we find the ghosts of now, wandering through the debris of what could've been and what still lingers now."

I think this sounds decent, could probably do with some rewording, but I think it summarises my input to the world of hauntology.

So along my journey of making animations using blender, I have been using Chat GPT to help me with it. I have mainly chosen this path because, it is much more direct than YouTube videos or searching online help boards. With YouTube or help boards they sometimes do not directly help you with the problem you're facing, if that's not the issue the videos are usually bad quality or go on for too long which I do not have the patience for. Here are a few examples of the questions I have asked GPT to help me with.

Obviously while using GPT to help with blender problems, you do need to take the solution with a pinch of salt as it might not be correct. But it has been incredibly helpful with some of the issues I have ran into along the way.

Yes I have been saying please and thank you, just in case of the uprise of AI.
