The use of painting and sound can be exciting within the concept of hauntology, with me not knowing much about the rules of music allows me to create sound which doesn't abide by the rules of sound and music, beats etc. this excited me a-lot but I do find myself at a standstill because its one thing creating disintegration loops but i have no knowledge of this aspect for future creations unless I start to learn more about sound etc.
I have found more musicians to listen to who can inspire me in the future, Demdike Stare, Belbury Poly, Philip Jeck, Mordant Music and The Focus Group.
although Its difficult to find painters who work primarily under the concept of hauntology I do find that Ivan Seal fits the structure quite nicely. his work featuring familiar objects which can trigger memories or a sense of familiarity but while also not being that object.
